THANX RECORD (Los Angeles, CA)
Here's a couple of tunes from my LA band THANX from the mid 1980's. After moving from Chicago to San Diego and leaving bands behind in both cities, I put this one together while punk was (unfortunately) flourishing in LA. Sampled off our record of the same name, we garnered some decent radio play in LA and were regulars on the LA showcase circuit including the Whiskey A-Go Go, Troubador, Roxy, Starwood, Madame Wong's, Gazarri's, Ice House and others. I wrote, sang and played Rickenbacker bass on both of these.. and this band was LOUD live... this record was recorded at Sequoia Studios in Van Nuys, CA.

DM STUDIO SESSION (Chicago, IL)
While playing in numerous Chicagoland bands through the 60s and 70s, a producer
contacted me and was willing to back a multi-instrumental album on which I would
to play all the instruments, but I'd have to prove that I could do it. At this
point, I booked some studio time at Acme Studios in Chicago to lay down tracks
for a prototype of this concept. I moved my guitars and amps through a Chicago
snowstorm, borrowed my sound man's drum kit (which I played all the time anyway) and took a week to lay down the tracks. After the recordings, I'd move to the west coast awaiting financing from the producer, who informed me with somewhat sincere regret that the backing had fallen through, and I was on my own to shop these sessions to the record labels in LA. Instead, I'd spend my time playing in San Diego and LA bands, and eventually go back into radio.
Sigh.

DM HOME SESSION (Los Angeles, CA)
Fast forward to Los Angeles, California, I land this cushy high paying job with a Fortune 500 company as a producer and audio engineer/video editor, and I'm getting bored not playing music and in between radio jobs. So I buy this nifty little record called Drum Drops, head to the home studio room and start laying down a few tracks around the drum beat. The first was guitar oriented with vocals, and the second two keyboard tunes that were pretty much just goofing around. With only four tracks to work with and bouncing to achieve more than four, it created a little nasty sibilance as far as the audio goes, but they were only little home tracks....
